Hi folks,

Entered my mums reading meters yesterday and looking at her bill today she has been given the warm home discount (which she is entitled to). However the amount taken off her bill is £114.29 but I thought this was £120? Any thoughts.......perhaps to do with VAT??

Think I've just answered my own question. The discount is applied before VAT is applied so £120 @ 95% = £114. Has the same effect as deducting £120 from the full bill with VAT?

Good for your Mum , bogof....did she have to prove entitlement.
I've had a letter from my provider saying OK, but just had a bill so deduction will probably be on my summer invoice. Barely time to get in a cashback promotion if one is going.

She said she got a letter through from DWP (I think) saying she was entitled and her supplier had been informed. This was a couple of months ago. I got her to phone Scottish Power (her provider) to confirm and they said it would be applied by 31 March....and it has.
