Paying Tax, YET will be way under 6k threshold this year

Hi my wife is paying tax on her salary,, but shes only earnt 2.5k so far since april and is projected to earn 4.5k by april.

Whats best to claim tax back, who should i contact? should i wait til april?

    How many jobs does she have, what is the tax code being used, when did she start the job/s ?

    If she only has one job and she started this year, her employer should have asked her to complete a form P46 (downloadable of the web) which would usually enable her to get 1/12th of the annual allowance tax-free each month, until hmrc sorted out a proper tax code. They can still do this now (unless hmrc have already given a code)

    Without a either a P46 or P45, they are obliged to deduct tax on 100% of the earnings.

    she had a job in april-May - then she was on Job Seekers allowance, then after she is in this current role,

    As far as i know she always handed to prioir/ p45/46 to the employer/JSA at the time

    The best way to get the money back is to ensure her code number is correct.
    What is the code number on her latest payslip?
    It should look like this 747L W1
    The only thing that is constant is change.

    You shouldnt be contacting anyone, its her salary and her tax.

    Once the tax code is sorted, her refund will come thrgough her payroll.
    make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
    and we will never, ever return.
