l took the loan from barclay and halifax 6 years ago . last year on July/2011 ,l made the a telephone call to both banks regards PPI claim procedure .I was given ref no to both claims including the questioner from barclay , il didnt go to the se companies .
On 20/8/2011 two companies called me to say there going to claim on behalf of me and you wont pay anything ,l said ok.But Later l knew that they are taking huge % + VAT ,l decided to call them and told them l dont want to continue with my claim with you,and dont want to involve you as third party,and the lady asked me why?replied l dont want.Then l decided to ring the bank and explain to them,that l dont want to involve any thirdy party.Bank said yes ,they will put a note.
So on Dec /2011 l received the letter from halifax and Barclay to say ur application was succeful and both of them they offered me 5200 and 5325 .After one week l received a cheque and my money was credited to my account.
But Jan 03/12 .l received a call from these company ,and they told me that ur application has been succesful ,sooner ur going to receive a final payment .I told them ,do u remember l told u on the phone not proced?no reply .why did u decided to continue ,replied ur aggreement.Which?
02/02/12 ,received a letter from one company ,said we have manage to get ur PPI ,5325 from Halifax ,you need to pay as 1560 to settle you debt.
My qns, there any legality for these company to pay them all amount while it cost me .45p to call the back and to sign the paper work and send via post by .30p? Dont u think these is to take money by force from ppi company who said the can act on behalf?
l told them not to procede with my application including notifying bank not involve thirdy party ,bse l made myself?
l NEED ANY HELP TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER.I AM NOT ON POSTION TO PAY CLAIM COMPANY ALL AMOUNT.
Can citizen advise will be read to advice me.?
Lastly ,l heard that people who receive PPI they should declare to H&M CUSTOMS,my qns why do we need to declare to tax people while was our loan?

UK taxation is that interest is income and therefore taxable subject to your overall earned income.
As you have a log of cancellation and what you did, stick with it and tell them that continued to proceed without your permission. Report them to the ministry of justice if they continue. Can you name and shame the company please.
Also when did you receive written details of their services and when did you tell them you did not require their services0
