Would my building insurance cover my roof in this case..?

I've got damp/moisture coming from the flat roof of my house. Got a couple of roofers who came and had a look. Said the problem is definitely the roof and its because beams have been laid out wrong. I hadn't known this of course. Would rectifying this be covered by my building insurance? i don't want to call them in case they log the call and increase my premium... Any thoughts?

It's very unlikely, they will probably say its wear and tear and non maintenance. And very likely it will say this in your policy t & c's.

I wouldnt bother ringing them, some of these insurances put it on your file as a claim.

    Sorry......

Insurance doesn't cover rectification of poor workmanship. It's designed to cover a range of perils such as flood, fire etc, but not previous construction mess ups.

Building insurance is not a way of getting a cheap repair contract. The best that you can hope for is that the insurance will pay for damaged decorations due to the faulty roof structure admitting water.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
