Only posted for advice, not a hard time. Will call out accountant

You are getting a 'hard time' because your question doesn't make sense.

A company can buy anything it likes. Whether it should be able to be claimed back on the companies taxes is a different matter. As is whether the directors all agree on buying the items or not.

Honestly, its effectively a computer and each employee/worker/manager within a company should be supplied with the tools to do their job so why shouldn't this be ok?

You seem to be fishing for a 'correct answer' but if you don't give us the full details we can't even know what you are asking. It depends WHY you are asking this question and that requires far more information than you are giving!
  • If the director can buy something for the company will come down to the governance and rules of the company. Most companies will have defined the spending authority levels of directors/ managers and processes for authorisation if spend above the limit is wanted.

I personally would expect most companies to allow directors to spend the sub £1,000 without needing further authorisation but have known some people who have things set up such that all spend requires dual signitures.

Much will depend on whether the two directors are also the only shareholders in the company.
