Halifax & Loyds-Tsb withdrawing from Pet Insurance

I’ve received a letter from BDML Connect informing us that Halifax is withdrawing from the Pet Insurance market and the underwriters (Agria International Forsakring AB) has decided to cease offering renewal terms to Halifax customers. This means our beloved Yorkie, Billy-Bob, will no longer be covered for his Bradycardia as any new insurer will consider it a pre-existing condition. I’m quite fortunate in that Billy’s meds only cost about £400 per annum but I know that the Halifax and Loyds-Tsb’s decision must have hit some other people quite hard; especially if their pet’s treatment is expensive. I’m posting this to let anyone who’s been effected by the Halifax/Loyds Tsb decision to withdraw from Pet Insurance know that The Consumer Action Group are helping people deal with this.
BBC Radio 4’s Moneybox, The Daily Mail & Metro also wants people to interview urgently and CAG are taking contact details. Please go to the site 'theconsumeractiongroup' and search for the threads on Halifax Pet Insurance & Loyds-TSB Pet Insurance. Even if it was months ago when you found out; they can still help and they don't ask for a penny.
Thanks
We have been offered alternative cover to be provided by Petwise (owned by BDML- Administrators for Halifax eXtra) but is both expensive and totally inadequate for our needs and we strongly believe Billy-Bob’s Halifax eXtra ‘Life-long’ policy should continue to be honoured.
