The answer is yes but not many.
The FOS have just published stats for the last 6 months and only upheld 11% of PPI complaints against Capital One. That is one of the lowest ratios of any provider.
The reason for that is probably due to the fact that many people did not seek or get advice and were bought direct (DIY) with capital one. Misbuying or buyer remorse or try-it-on complaints are not grounds for getting redress.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hello,
I had my complaint rejected by Cap One last July and took it to the FOS. I had not signed the forms for PPI and Cap One added it 2 years later stating that I had agreed to it when I had a new card activated over the phone. I asked for phone transcripts which they could not supply. The forms went off to the FOS in July, my case being that when the new card was activated I was unemployed. The FOS rang me in Jan and were very helpful, I had to send notiification from the NI that I was unemployed at the time. There then followed 2 more phone calles going into great depth about my circumstances. Last week I got a call saying the FOS were upholding the claimand Cap One had asked for the information from the NI, they have been given 2 weeks to get back to the FOS.
I know from reading posts on here how difficult Cap One can be but it looks as though I'm getting somewhere.
All I will say is the FOS went into great detail so be prepared and be really sure about your reasons for complaint.
