Painting Waxed Pine Shelves
[Deleted User]
I bought some pine shelves from eBay that I intended to rub down and paint white. Someone has told me that rather than rub down you can buy an undercoat that I can paint on then paint over? Does anyone know what it's called and where I can buy it from? Thanks

If they really are waxed, forget painting them.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Why? Surely there is some way of doing it?0

I had a table that had been waxed and I got rid of the finish with some hot water with vinegar added (well I think thats what I used). You have to get the waxy finish off or everything you put on top will just slide off.:hello:  please play nicely children !0

As above, lose the wax, and 'pre kote' from International should do the job!0
