    Thats very ironic as I had an automatic licence and have just upgraded it to duel so that the car I buy is cheaper, its £900 more expensive for an auto, as well I really love manual driving, maybe I'm going backwards;)

    I think automatics are brilliant in cars with a largish engine but are otherwise to be avoided - I have driven some TRULY AWFUL automatics in the 1300-2000cc range and some really great ones in cars of 3.0 litre upwards.

    Drove a Mk2 Escort 1.3 n mettalic brown with auto many years ago that put me off them for 20 odd years.....:eek:

    Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    Plus they do less MPG than an equivalent manual and road tax is higher than equivalent manual as for some reason they are not as clean on emissions as i have found out with my Micra auto.
