booked holiday, now want more money!!

i recently booked a holiday for me and 2 mate to share a room all inclusive, with lowcostholidays, i recieved a e-mail from them today saying;

Good Morning,

I am emailing you to inform you that unfortunately your booking at the Hotel Piscis Park has failed. This is due to a price increase of the room type at the time of booking so therefore your booking was not confirmed. This is why you would have not received any documentation.

We have availability in this hotel for:

Double room with an extra bed – All inclusive – with an extra cost of £62.00. Total = £377.00

Please note that if you do not wish to pay this, then you can cancel your hotel component of this booking, and we can refund you any funds that you have already paid towards the hotel.

Please note that the above is subject to availability up until the point of booking.

Please advise me whether you wish to go ahead with the above and would like to pay the extra costing?

has anyone have any advice on this??

You have no rights whatsoever I'm afraid,

You have 2 choices however, pay the difference or cancel, simple as that really
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

It happens a lot with online bookings unfortunately, that's why I always recommend calling the call center to book, at least you get your confirmation whilst on the phone. Bookings done on the website can have glitches - at the end of the day it is just a website - especially if the booking was done outside of office hours and there is no-one to update the website until the next day.
  • Happened to me with on the beach too.

Lowcostholidays don't sell package holidays; just flights, hotels and transfers under separate bookings. From time to time these things happen, although lowcostholidays are usually pretty good as they have a live booking system. You can cancel the hotel or pay the extra.

Shop around on the net and see how much the hotel would cost on other websites. If you can get it cheaper than £377.00 than cancel with lowcost and book it with someone else.

Also be aware that you will probably still be liable for any flights booked at the same time if this is a dynamic package. Check the booking conditions.

    Damage limitation.

Check other suppliers such as Hotels4U, otel.com, holidaynights, alpharooms and quickrooms.com, hotelopia, travel Republic etc etc

There really is no point using these travel agencies unless they are cheaper as you are just booking seperate components that you could easily put together yourself.
  • Had a phone message today and a email from lowcostholidays saying i have not paid them! i booked and paid holiday in full on 8th jan iv sent them 4 emails so far with details from my bank card showing the payment but still not sorted yet!
