Unless he can prove it was a loan then a court cannot help him.

However as to the threats......is it really worth the hassle?

I would agree to pay him back, at an amount you can afford.

If I ever lent (or gave) a friend money, I would expect it returned at some point.

He has a copy of the cheque... dont know if that could help his case?
It is not worth the hassle no, but I simply cannot afford to pay him back

A cheque in itself proves nothing other than he gave you a cheque.

If the threats are of a violent nature then perhaps you should inform the police?

Look at ways of paying him back then, if your unemployed ar eyou receiving jsa ?
  • No, don't receive JSA.

    What ways would you suggest?!

I am not in contact with him and have been advised not to due to the threats.

I dont understand why he is being so threatening when he never stated that he wanted the money back in the first place
  • Sorry mate, no one in their right mind would give someone 740 bones for nothing. Pay him back !!!!!!.
  • I cant! That is the problem here!
  • Besides, even if I could, what right does he have threatening and harrassing myself and my family??!
