Laughing at our own mistakes can lengthen our own life. Laughing at someone else’s can shorten it.
;) Pronoia - the wonderful feeling that everyone is conspiring to help you!! ;)
  • Would the winner choose the 4-slice toaster over say Apple IPAD2 or XBOX 360? haha?

MSE and Direct links to images

    MSE Forum Manager

    Hi Folks

Due to some complaints we have received, we'd like to remind all users that hotlinking to images on other websites may cause that site huge bandwidth problems. In the interest of maintaining good relations with competition providers, please try not to link in this way

    Thanks

We do seem to be getting more & more posted ,mjm3346.

MSE have not really helped themselves though as I recall a post where the reply did not really state it could not be done.

Personally I would rather it was not done as we have no control of the piccy & the "owner" could alter it & we could see unsuitable material on here.

I had not seen that thread before (thankfully).
As the "should not do it" post was by the Forum Manager and is in the guidelines I take that to apply and not the muddy the waters post by an Editorial Assistant.

Fully agree but the second post by MSE Alana seems to have given members the perception that it is ok to hotlink as was quoted back at me by a member in a subsequent thread.
Following all the posts about it I decided to steer well clear of any further mention of hotlinking & just post piccys via a hosting site :-)
