Hi, looking for a new router since my Belkin packed in.
I like the sound of the Linksys WRT54GS, 108MB/S
It's £41 @ PC World Collect In Store, but nowhere actually has it
£46@ Currys - Same story as above.
Anyone know where I can get this router / another 108mb/s (NTL Cable Broadband) router with similar spec at a good price?
Cheers

Belkins have a lifetime warranty.. call them and ask for a replacement.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

if you can get the linksys i would recommend them. i have the one without the speed boost.
are you sure this one is still current and they havent upgraded the model numbers which is why no one else has it. try this link. i know yours is listed but chose another product to do a search for. http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C1&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1115416939789&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper0 -
Definately give Belkin a try! My friend has called them twice over the last few years (different ones each time) and they'll send you a new one out pretty quickly.0

Unless you have linksys speedbooster cards in the pc's to connect that are also rated 108Mb/s you won't get that just 54Mb/s max.
Staples have had some cheap wireless stuff in their clearance:
I've bought someone a Netgear WGT624 v2 108 Mbps for £19.91 plus they knocked off 10% more as it was a 14 day return and the nice lady let me use a £5 voucher staples had sent me, even though you were supposed to spend £20.
I also bought a Belkin Wireless Pre-N router for £49.91. This is great even if you don't have pre-n cards in your pc's as you get upto 20% better coverage, gives a stronger signal and connects at 54Mbs for much greater distance.
The Belkin Pre-N desktop pci cards with a PCMCIA card slotted in them were £9.91. again these are great even if your router is not pre-n as they have good coverage.
Also seen the netgear wgr614 for £19.91.
Have a look in your staples see if theres anything left.0 -
any of these makes will be great. they are all good quality. one thing i wished i had got was the n version as rowantoad describes. it gives better range than g and sometimes in the house i can only get a slow connection. depends on how big your house is though and how much you want to spend.0

HI
I have the Linksys WRT54GS, and WUSB54GS, when I look at status of the link, The speed is only 54Mbps, is there a setting that I need to change to get the 108Mbps?
Any idea?
