Switching gas supplier problem

Hi, I am posting on behalf on a friend.

She has a card meter from EDF, and they are absolutely ripping her off. About £120 a week. Sometimes it cuts off the supply even there is still some credit left, and then she has to phone them to 'turn it back on' (is that possible?). The whole thing is just too annoying and too costly.

She wants to switch to another company and a normal meter but EDF apparently wouldn't let her to.

She has switched electricity a year ago and is saving loads now.

What would she do?

Thanks.

You (or her) need to find out why they won't let her switch. Is it because of an outstanding debt recovered through the meter?

£120 is far too much even now in the middle of winter.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
