Going to see any advisor for an hour is only going to make you more confused than you are now. You are not in a position to assess prices because you don't know about types of coverage. So get on google and read up on the types of cover and the nuances of each one.
There are around 13 different types of life assurance. Some are no longer mainstream. Each type tends to have options. Each provider tends to have features that others may not have.
Having some background knowledge of what is available and how they work and the features etc is important if you DIY. It also handy if you seek advice as you will follow what is being said. Although it is not vital as long as you understand why each thing you have is put in place.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Thanks again to everyone who has contributed to this discussion and offered advice. Its very much appreciated.
I will take it all on board and do some research over the next month before our visit to the UK in March, when I will sit down with an IFA and get it all sorted.
Thanks again0
