Claim for carpet

I have just had a claim for an escape of water on my first floor landing, that flooded the room below, the furnishings and carpet seem to have been successfuly dried out, by a drying company. The carpet on the landing was an old patterned wool carpet, which I took outside as it was soaked, it just fell apart as it was pieced. My question is will I be able to claim for the hall and stairs and downstairs hall or not, have any of you any experience of this.

You probably can claim for this if the hall, stairs and landing is one carpet.0
