hi,in the year 2000 i had a loan off welcome finance for a car ,and after that one was paid i had another straight after, when we took out the loan it was in my ex partners name but i was also on their as they had to take my wages into account for us to have the loan, now i know that welcome finance has closed down and a company sorry cant remember their name has took on their previous customers to help with their claims against welcome.ive been in touch with them as i cant find any paper work with account numbers etc they cant find my information and barclays said that records from that long ago would have been destroyed by now is this correct?because its my barclays account they used to take the payments from us.can anyone help or has it been to long ago to claim as im sure they missold me ppi on the policy ,or because i wasnt the main person on the account wouldnt i be able to claim thx

That means it predated the General Insurance Council's code of practice so you would not be able to take Welcome Finance to FOS anyway.
Then any complaint would need to come from them, not you.when we took out the loan it was in my ex partners namebut i was also on their as they had to take my wages into account for us to have the loan
That makes no difference if the policy was in their name, not yours
,now i know that welcome finance has closed down and a company sorry cant remember their name has took on their previous customers to help with their claims against welcomeSo you cannot prove the loan ever existed, let alone that it had PPI on it.ive been in touch with them as i cant find any paper work with account numbers etc they cant find my informationbarclays said that records from that long ago would have been destroyed by now is this correct?because its my barclays account they used to take the payments from us.
Barclays are not at fault. If you want to satisfy yourself that they really do not have any information make a Data Subject Access Request.im sure they missold me ppi on the policy
You do not seem to have a shred of evidence to suggest you purchased a policy at all, let alone that you were missold it.
At best this will be politely rejected. At worst it will be dismissed as frivolous and vexatious and you will get a bill for the firm's time.0
