hi recently my bank account has been paying out to a mysterious direct debit
description does not help as is just list of 0
phoning the bank - and they could not id the company either and jsut sugegsted to cancel
all ihave is a originator ID which i am trying to determine the company by
any help aprriciated

Cop out by the bank. They know who they're transferring the money to.
A call to their complaints department should sort it out.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0 -
If they have taken money on the DD you need to get it back. Ring the bank again, they can easily look up the Originator, it will have full details of the company and addresses, phone numbers.
You also need them to raise an indemnity, the bank is responsible for putting the missing money back into your account within 24 hours.
If the originator is unknown, follow the info

Seems a bit of a stupid reason to move banks to me... You'll get the odd agent who is either lazy or can't do certain procedures in any bank. The fact that the next person they spoke to could do it easily implies it isn't an endemic problem there...0
