Hope somebody can help!
My wife is considering taking VR if offered from the NHS after 22 years full time service. I gather that VR payments over £30000 are taxable.
Can anybody tell me how I calculate the cost of buying extra years for her pension and how I can work out the actuarially reduced annual pension and lump sum with this one off payment from her redundancy.

She needs to speak to her union or to the NHS pension scheme administrators. Basic information here:
