                    Hi,
I have bought a new car. The insurance on my exiting car has 4 months left. I would want to transfer the insurance to the newer car. However it would leave me without any insurance for the existing car. I am trying to sell the car privately. It would be a problem to do a test drive (as I would not have any insurance cover) for a prospective buyer. How do I manage this situation ?
I would appreciate any suggestion(s)
Thanks in Advance

You need another car insurance policy. try calling your current insurer explain the situation and see what they can offer in terms of short duration insurance until your other car is sold.0

Most insurers will insure your old car as a temporary additional vehicle on your policy, for a specified amount of time. It's worth asking them, there is normally a charge for this."Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." Edmund Burke

You would have to make the person taking the vehicle out for a test drive to ensure that they have driving other cars on their policy and that the terms of it doesnt require the vehicle to have other insurance (most dont)
The issue with it is that they must not park the vehicle anywhere which is deemed public access (includes supermarket car parks etc) and if "something happened" you would not be able to drive the vehicle if they had a problem or suchAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
