Hi.
My sister bought a double buggy from e-bay last August. The seller was selling a lot of the same buggies brand new.
2 months later in October the wheel fell off. The seller was notified and after many e-mails and weeks she finally agreed that the buggy could be sent back so that she could take a look at it.
Before my sister was able to send it back she was taken quite seriously ill and the buggy was the last thing on her mind at the time.
Now she is recovering she sent an e-mail yesterday to the seller asking if she could return it now.
She got a rather rude e-mail back saying tough and that the seller does not use that account any more so there was nothing that my sister could do about it.
Can anything be done about the buggy or has my sister left it too late.

It's probably a bit late to do anything now.
If the seller was a business that was still operating you might stand a chance but if she's shut up shop it won't be easy.
You could persist and threaten the small claims court but it is just likely to lead to a lot of stress and unpleasantness.0 -
Unfortunately I cant see what they can do now, it's an auction site so you really wouldnt be covered by a warrenty like you would in a shop.
I'm sorry to hear this has happened and hope your sister is on the road to recovery

Hi.
I have contacted Cossato who made the pushchair and they said to send it back to them for them to asses the claim.
What I want to know now is what is the best way to send it back.
It will need to have some sort of proof of delivery and as my sister has to pay for it herself she would like it to be the cheapest possible method.
Thanks everyone.0 -

You could use Kevin the Courier - Selective2007 on Ebay, he uses DHL so you get tracked delivery and he only costs £3.99.

Are we only talking a wheel falling off? You will pay to send it back, then back to the seller. The seller has already stated she will not help and so you will probably have to fight in small claims (initial costs there). You may win, but is it worth the fight?
Can you not just stick the wheel back on?0 -

You mustn't know buggies very well as when the wheels fall off 9/10 times they continue to fall off , which isn't very good when pushing a loaded buggy , the one in question being a double too , as buggy tips with the kids in it . Happened to me once as I went to cross the road , had to literally pick the whole thing up and walk with it to avoid getting run over .Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !

You're right i don't, which is why i asked:Can you not just stick the wheel back on?
I'm all for fighting to get my rights with purchases, but i will weigh up if it is actually worth a fight. And in this case it seems it will be a lot of fight to get a simple repair done.0 -
Thanks everyone.
The pushchair is being sent back to see if it was fault and to find out why the wheel fell off.
If it is proved faulty, which I presume it would be, then they will repair it.
This has been decided by Cosatto.
The original seller refused to do anything and said to take it up with Cossatto which is what we have done, a claim is not being made against her.0 -
