Hi

I am a FTB and have just moved in to a flat (on boxing day) and I was on Scottish Power for both gas and electricity.

I applied for switching to NPower and the letter came through today acknowledging they they will be contacting Scottish Power for me.... BUT today the MSE email said NOT to switch... really worried now. Should I wait?!? Or go with it.

Please please advise I am a complete newbie at all this stuff.

Thanks
iain

  • you should have a 14 day "Cooling off" period where you can cancel your switch with your new supplier.

    I'd give them a call! :)

The online market is a relatively level playing field at the moment so i would'nt worry to much as in the space of the last 2 months all major 6 online suppliers have changed prices. You will find that the companies will stagger their price decrease in 2 installments throughout the year. I would advise you check again in (approx )September when i think the market will be clearer. Ebico have an annual price review also due in September. I believe the market will be in flux for a while but why wait to save all energy contracts are (generally) rolling 28 day contracts.
