PPI Abbey (Santander) loan

Hi
we took out a loan with Abbey (Santander) in 2006, I can't actually remember whether PPI was recommended or even mentioned but I do have something with my paperwork which is
"Your Abbey Personal Loan Payment Protection needs and our recommendations" This recommends we take out PPI.
Is it worth me trying to reclaim if I can't remember what was said at the time?

Is ppi on the loan agreement?,if it is and you have reasons for mis sell.
