That would be most helpful. Today took time off my work to check all the details with my bank. They confirmed all went through fine, double check the bank account details & the reference and they gave me the faster payment reference to give to TT. I e-mailed TT again with full details of everything - the original dates, the original reference numbers, my account number, the amount etc, etc and got an e-mail back from them asking me to Fax them a copy of my bank statement to them!
Don't have a Fax and don't have time to go to Post Office to use theirs so have emailed them a picture again of the statements. It's getting so bizarre! According to the bank all they have to do is pop the faster payment reference into their systems and they should find the transfer instantly and have it resolved.....it's soooooooo frustrating!

Thanks for this - have left her a message today.
Tried to update using my ipad and it kept cutting out, so this is the first chance I've had to get on a computer
Update:
Talk Talk have sent me an e-mail on the 4th saying that they have credited my account finally and re-set it to zero - Yippppeeee!
Got a call from their debt collection agency this morning saying that we still owe them £15.17 - booo hisss
Debt collection agency say it's highly likely that TalkTalk have put a default on our account and it's affecting our credit rating - boo hiss
Talk Talk say I have to contact Experian to resolve this (pretty sure this isn't correct and that they are the only ones who can resolve it)...tried using the number they gave me and got a message saying its been disconnected!!! - boo hissss
As our business is connected with our home address we are now struggling to get the new accounts that we tried to set up at Toy Fair last month....at my wits end
It's really a bit like a pantomime now!0 -
Check your credit rating Moonbeam - I've been keeping an eye on mine after the ridiculous palaver I've been having with TalkTalk for the last 3 years(!!!!) and there's been nothing put on my credit rating despite still being chased by TalkTalks debt collectors.
I've written letters that haven't even been acknowledged so thank you very much to Matilda for that email address as perhaps I'll actually get a response and a refund of the money they owe me.
I'd also like to reiterate - don't join TalkTalk! Any savings that you make aren't worth the sleepless nights and the hours and hours of phone calls going over the same issues, being referred to someone else and then being cut off over and over again!0 -
I have to say that I have had no trouble at all with Talktalk.
Been with Tiscali since 2005 - any technical problem has been sorted.
Last year I had a phone call about upgrading and price increase, then i found myself charged for calls to the US. I rang to complain and it was sorted immediately with a refund and a discount.
I have nothing to do with the company.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

I'm with T.T. and had a bit of a wobble setting up and then they did try to get me to upgrade, which I agreed to and then realised I'd be paying more for something I didn't want. They were brilliant and cancelled the upgrade as soon as I contacted them, even apologised and said it was clearly not what I needed so shouldn't have been suggested.
If I have any problems I usually go on their members forum it's been very helpful.
Some of the dreadful problems posters are having must be awful and I really sympathise but I can't be the only happy T.T. customer:)0 -
OP you have my total sympathy. I too made the awful mistake of moving from BT to Talk Talk for phone and broadband. I had nothing but trouble from the start. The 'broadband' was slower than dial up. Talk Talk tried to tell us it was our phone lines, but couldn't explain why our BT modem had provided a perfectly adequate speed broadband connection. After wasting weeks speaking to their staff trying to sort it out I demanded that I be allowed to cancel only to be told I had to pay a £70 disconnection charge. It was only when I threatened to report them to trading standards for misrepresentation of the service they could provide that they backed down and removed this fee. We moved back to BT and had no problems with them. We've since moved to Sky because they are cheaper and still haven't had any problems. I would never move back to Talk Talk.0

My friend, who is too ill to post here. Dumped Talk Talk on 30th December 2011 and went back to BT. This was because of awful service with their broadband. Paying for high download speed and getting only 256kbs most of the time.
Anyway, BT cancelled the account with TT on his behalf. He received a 'final' bill which he paid. Only to receive another bill 3 weeks later. He told them he had paid it. Now they are threatening debt collectors. He is seriously ill with heart problems, diabetes and has had 3 strokes. This company do not give a damn about how they treat people. He has sent two letters with all his details and what does he get back a letter from them asking for his details!! They really are NUMPTIES.
So thank you to the person that provided the above email address maybe that will bring some end to this. Although I doubt it. But will let you know.0 -
Well we have been with TT for over three years and apart from the odd call to try to get us to sign up to their improved service all is well, With BT we were getting around 2 mb/s with TT we get around 4mb/s. An engineer came just after we switched to them and checked our setup, no charge, so will stay with them till things go wrong.0
