Hair Removal

Definitely worth checking back on!
A word of advice though, don't expect super smooth results after the first few goes. You'll find that the longer hairs come out and the shorter ones don't. After a while though you seem to get a cycle of hair growth though which means you get more hair and better results.0 -
Yeah I know its like waxing take time!
Can you do all areas?
Just found this but think the boots one maybe looks good.
Also wet or dry or both?! ARGH! too many decisions!

I do my bikini line and legs, but can't tolerate arms (I chickened out after the first go because it was very painful there and never did it again!). I don't know about face though?
I have one just for dry use but would like a wet one too, but that wouldn't be an essential factor for me if I were buying a new one.0 -
Thanks
Think I'm going to look into getting the boots one when it's back in stock seems a good deal0 -
Laser hair removal would be your best bet if you're getting irritated from shaving http://www.miravueskinclinic.com/treatments/laser-hair-removal.html
IPL generally slow's growth and hair returns after a couple of years. Nd:YAG gives permanent results because it penetrates further and cuts off the blood supply to the hair follicle.0 -
the Philips Satinelle soft epilator are gentle to use0

Thanks I have been ok with shaving but recently only doing it every few weeks and its drying out my skin, I don't want to go down the laser route as its not that bad!
I emailed boots and that epilator isn't being replaced but new models will be out soon
WIll look at the philips thanks0 -
Laser/electrolysis is useless: it doesn't work for everyone and obviously you have to keep letting it grow in between treatments, so if your hair is dark and you're already selfconscious it's far from ideal. It's expensive too even if you get a Groupon deal or something like that.
I personally have my legs, underarms and bikini line waxed (I have found a salon where I can get it done for €5 a zone - so €5 for both legs, €5 for both underarms etc - plus the €10/month salon membership fee) and find that after a time it keeps it at bay long enough so that you only have to go once a month. For the unwanted hair on my face, I tweeze most of the time, use a razor maybe once a month when the hairs get too numerous for the tweezers to keep up with, and then in school holidays I let it grow for 3 days so it gets long enough before getting it waxed off. Don't think I would recommend an epilator for your face or arms!!
Haven't got unwanted hair on my arms though so can't help there.0 -
Just to say I did actually use my epilator on my face for the first time last week (side burns) and it worked a treat, not overly painful and no rashes after. I guess everyone's different but I thought I'd let you know.0

I just wanted to add- OP exfoliation is important when it comes to preventing ingrowing hairs- its even more important if your using an epilator as your pulling hairs out from a deep level rather then shaving which cuts hair along the top skin level.
Its probably because in the weather and with the temperature forever changing with warm buildings and freezing outside weather, that your skin is shedding more then normal. The dead skin cells are what cause ingrowing hairs and the best way to get rid of them is with an exfoliating skin wash and if possible, using a body brush when your drying your skin before adding your moisturiser.
Good luck with the epilator- mine made me bleed- it pulled out the hairs and I'd find speckled dots of blood on all my clothes, looked very odd! After a good few months (6) I stopped as the bleeding never went away and I used to use tweezers, got no bleeding but got eye strain so ended up back with shaving. I wish wax worked for me but even on my legs it never pulls out all the hairs, on my underamrs its less then 5 hairs a time! If I had the cash I'd get things done in a salon which is always another option to consider?0
