Hi everyone,
I have managed to get hold of my bank statements and find all the companies that I had finance with over the last 6 years. So far I have tried contacting two.
Black Horse need my agreement number for the loan I had with them that was a HP loan for a camera through Sony. I no longer have any paper work and they cannot access my file without that agreement number. They think HSBC will have it, but my account with HSBC has been closed now. Will they give it to me?
Secondly, and more importantly, I have called Black Horse finance in relation to HP Car Finance. They have told me that although the loan was with them, they will not deal with a PPI query. They tell me I need to speak to the dealer who sold me my car. The dealer was a one man band in my local village who one day just upped and left, shut the business down, and went, never to be seen again - there is no way I will be able to contact him. Again, I do not have any of the paper work any longer, so I have no way of finding out if I did or not. Is this really a dead loss? The account existed, but Black Horse won't deal with it...
I haven't got any further yet. Been on hold to Carlyle finance for a long while now... Fingers crossed it's third time lucky!

I'm afraid with no paperwork and the lender holding no information, you have no chance of proving the loan ever existed, let alone that it had PPI on it.0

I got all confused writing that post. The first bit was about Black Horse and the camera loan. The second phonecall was to G E Money who held my Hire Purchase loan for the car.
I am going to speak to the bank to get the account numbers for the whole lot, G E Money, Black Horse and whoever else, and then send the whole lot to the financial ombudsman, along with a claim for the £900 worth of bank charges that HSBC issued me with, and the PPI they possibly put on my credit card.0 -
Surely if I had PPI, it would be with the company that the loan is with? If I request paper work from G E Money, which I will do on Monday, the information will be on there in the financial breakdown of monthly payments?0

HSBC have finally found all the details of my direct debits for the duration of the time the account I held with them was open. Unfortunately, the G E Money one is not on there. I have yet to try phoning them, but I will - and see what they say. Wish me luck!0
