Valentines Flowers

Just going to pre-empt this.
Ordered flowers from M&S at the start of the month to be delivered to my wife's place of work (middle of Edinburgh). Wife is due to leave work in 20 mins - flowers haven't yet arrived. Went on the M&S website and there is now a large flashing banner saying deliveries will be up to 8pm tonight - that's just great. Called them up and explained the situation and she also said they will be delivering up to 8pm but they should be getting round the businesses first. The lady said to call back tomorrow if they aren't received by close of business.

I used the same service last year and they were delivered early in the morning so thought it would be safe to use again this year.

I used the local florists to where the misses works and they said the same re businesses being delivered to first - hers didnt turn up until 3:30 though which is lucky as she finished work at 4pm but it was noted on the order that they must be before 4pm. I guess that is the advantage of using a local florists though over the likes of interflora or a supermarket etc

My wife's didn't turn up till after she left work - luckily someone put them in some water overnight.
Phoned M&S and they didn't want to know just said that they were delivered before 6pm so as far as they are concered, they were on time.
I had used them last year and they had arrived early morning but I certainly won't be using them again next year.

Hand tied is always a good option to go for as they have water in the bottom of the wrapping which also means they can sit them on their desk rather than having to put them in the sink in the toilets - the misses said she had to go to 3 different toilets yesterday to find a sink that wasnt overflowing with flowers.

My wifes flowers didn't turn up at all.......
Oh. Wait, I didnt buy her any.
  • A bit off topic, but i thought i would share.

Every morning my sister takes mine and her kids to school, and her hubby asked her "you are coming straight back arn't you" she said yes cos she was going in the shower and he said "well you don't have to go in straight away, do you? I can make you a cuppa and some toast while you watch telly for half an hour" she said ok, wondering what was going on, he kept making comments like "flower deliveries start around 9 am don't they? You've never had flowers delivered before have you?" WELL she started to get exited that he had arranged a flower delivery for her.

Just after 9 am there was a knock at the door and her hubby shouted and told her it was for her, she exitedly went and opened the door............................ There stood her brother-in-law holding the most pitiful bunch of flowers you had ever seen and he said "Here i was told to deliver these at 9" and then he just turned around and walked away. My sister was gobsmacked she just stood there with these weeds (homestly they look like dandylions) and shouted "I'm gonna kill that B******" then she walked into the kitchen where her hubby was practically wetting himself he was laughing that much, handed him the flowers and said "that wasn't funny" and went upstairs and broke her heart.

Her eldest daughter heard her crying and asked what was wrong she said nothing, so her daughter went and asked her dad, and he told her. She got her car keys and went out, soon she was back with this HUGE flower arrangement and a valantine balloon for her mam. Now my sisters hubby is in debt for the huge arrangement around £30 i think.

When my sister told me, I thought it was funny, but then again i wasn't on the receiving end of that joke.

Some women just have no sense of humour! Mind you there's NO WAY I would even think of doing that to my missus- I want to reach pension age.
