Accor Hotels Price Match + 10% discount

Hi,

We have just booked a hotel room in Switzerland staying at the new ibis Styles in Lucerne in August. Topcashback already give me 4.54% cashback giving £21, but in addition to that I found the same hotel and room cheaper on hotels.com.
Accorhotels.com offer a price match guarantee, and after filling out the online form providing links to the lower rate, I should receive an additional 10% discount saving an additional £65 for 4 nights!
So total saving should, in due time be £86 on an initial cost of £481!

Tell us again when they confirm that they are actually going to honour the lower rate. Anytime i have tried to claim this - not with Accor, admittedly - I've been told that it doesn't meet the criteria.

They replied today, but had found that there was a CHF 2 tax that hadn't been added so in fact the prices were identical, therefore it doesn't meet the criteria. Gutted.

I shan't say I told you so but............

ANyway, how does 2CHF manage to equal 20euros (difference between 200 you found on accor and the 180 elsewhere)?

The Accor chain has been my hotel preference for some time now and I have accumulated quite a few A-CLUB points and attained premium status in their scheme.

I always book via their website and I have never been able to get a better rate elsewhere - plus with my loyalty card, I frequently get upgrades and gifts.

Another point is that Accor have excellent sales during the course of the year - and if you are a loyalty card holder, you get access to the deals a few days before they go public.
