Friends want to go abroad in June for £400 for everything including spending money!!!

Hi,

My friends (female, all aged early 20s) want to go abroad to a beach destination in June for £400 including flights, luggage, transfers, hotel/apartment/villa AND spending money

Personally, I think they're living in a dream world.

I've suggested Bulgaria as I've been there before and it's the cheapest beach destination in Europe (that I know about!) but I don't think they want to go there as they think it's dodgy and don't believe me when I tell them it's not. I found an apartment self catering for a week going on 15th June for £273 each including return flights, 15kg luggage and transfers.

Does anyone else know anywhere which is as cheap as Bulgaria for spending money when you are there? Preferably a resort with good nightlife (lots of bars and clubs). We don't really want to go anywhere described as "away from the hustle and bustle".

I'm seeing the girls tonight about the holiday... _pale_

If you don't think one exists get them to find one.

Why not look for an AI that eliminates the variable costs of eating drinking which you won't realy know till you get where you are going.
  • I said to them to find a holiday but the best one girl found was £270 for flights, luggage, transfers & hotel to S'illot in Majorca which is a 10 minute drive away from the main nightlife. I don't fancy getting a taxi everyday on holiday as it will just cost more when we're there.

If anyone can say where they have been and how much spending money (and sorts of things they did/spent it on) they took and what board they were, that would be helpful?

I went AI in Alcudia, Majorca last year but didn't find it very good. I got bored staying in the same hotel so I'd prefer SC or HB. Plus AI for £400 is probably not going to be the best and we'd still need spending money for going to clubs :(

Have you tried looking a Travelzoo to see if they have anything which works for you.

Haven't looked in detail but thinks like:

Very do-able. Loads of options for sub £400 all-inclusives on Expedia and I'm sure you can find better if you look hard.
  • What about the nightlife though? Most of us were hoping for a lively resort. I'd feel like we were missing out just staying in the hotel and not going to the bars in the resort.

I guess that you'd have to look at tripadvisor and the like to see if any of the cheaper all-inclusives offer some form of night time entertainment. Maybe some will be more club style holidays as opposed to family ones.

You need to decide if you want to go to a 'full on" nightlife place such as San Antonio, Magaluf, Faliraki or somewhere less full on.

I know exactly what you mean about AI and wanting to go to the resort bars instead.

Heres the thing though - if you only have £400 each, and you want a weeks bar drinks prices included in that, how much realistically are you going to have left for your accommodation and flights?

I think if you want a girls bar resort holiday, you need to be thinking about how much your alcohol is going to cost you first, then look at how much you have left for everything else. If you spend £20 per day for example for your beer and food, thats £140 for a week, so you have £260 left for your hotel and flights etc. Is that doable do you think? Would the girls think that was realistic (based on the holidays you've already had).
  • How many of you are there?

It might make sense to look at hiring a villa or apartment rather then several hotel rooms. That way you also get full cooking facilities which will keep the cost down too. My and the GF stayed in an apartment from the Owner's Direct website and it cost us £400 for the apartment. It could sleep up to 6 though and still cost the same, so just over £66 each for a week working on 6 sharing.

Not sure what nightlife is 10 mins away from Sillot ?
Sillot and Sa Coma both just about shut down at midnight ,Cala Millor is a bit more lively but mainly German

Just check on the hotel reviews before you book anything in Sillot as there is some really awful hotels there

Have you looked at Benidorm ? not everyones cup of tea but cheap as chips and nightlife until ..well its 24/7
    Have a nice day :)
