I don't doubt it-but with no insulation and the temp below freezing outside, what do you expect?
You still haven't told us how you are attempting to heat your house?

When was your boiler last serviced? What setting have you got the CH output turned up to on it? Are the TRV's fully open?

I don't have cavity insulation and probably won't have it done due to the possible issue of creating damp. As for the loft, thats not insulated at present but i will be getting in some rolls in friday and doing that myself.
So essentially your house isn't wearing any clothes. In that case crank up the heat to compensate for the fact that its cold outside. Why are you asking if you know full why?

The answer is insulation insulation insulation. The temperature in my Lounge is now reading 17.2C with the external temperature being -0.8C no heating has been on since last night. We have no central heating at the moment but a we have a woodburner that we use in the evening. Cavity walls and loft have been insulated and all windows are double glazed.

    Puzzled.?????

The OP has a 1930 ish terraced house. Does it actually have cavity walls??

They only really came onto the scene about 1935 when semi's and detached started to become the norm.

The solution would be entirely different if that were thye case,
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
