quick option required

I was recently accepted for an HSBC card so i could transfer a balance of £3500 balance from another credit card to it. Unfortunately they only gave me a credit limit of £1000, and would not increase it, so have told them I no longer require the card. Unfortunately I start paying interest on my balance of £3500 at the end of this month and am now desperate to find another way of transferring this balance quickly to avoid paying interest. I took out a mortgage recently so am concerned that I have had too many credit checks, and wonder whether its worth trying for another card?

I also have two other credit cards, one with a balance of £800, and one of zero.

Any ideas of what to do next?

Why not transfer £980 to the HSBC card and save paying interest on that? You could always ring HSBC and ask if they could increase your limit to accommodate your full balance.

I did ring them and ask for an increase, but they wouldn't. I thought they might as it would have meant a bigger fee for transferring.

Transferring ~1K to a card with less or zero interest is far better than paying interest on it, you really shouldn't have turned it down.

You said you also have two other cards? Ring them up and see if you can get an offer out of them. One of them is at nil balance so you might be able to get something done. Who are they with?
