Tate and Lyle's Golden Syrup is the same. The stuff in the squeezy bottle tastes quite different, and to a syrup connoisseur like me, is nowhere near as nice as the tinned stuff.

Would you beleive Tesco's Own Brand is almost the same.

According to Mysupermarket Hellmanns 400g Jar is £1.87 and 600g Jar is £2.79

    Tesco's 500ml Jar is 85p

I use mayo and salad cream to make salad dressing eg. Mustard Dressing - mayo, milk, mustard (whatever kind you like) - mix together add just enough milk to get the consistancy you want- yum. I do the same with spices and herbs, so I buy the jar of mayo as the taste is better when milked down.

I collect old cook books and people used to make their own salad cream all the time in the 40s and 50s mummycm. Do you use full fat milk ?

No, we use semi or skimmed, so I use whatever I have on hand - so full fat mayo becomes low fat dressing lol

In answer to your original question to Hellmans, 1ml = 1g

I'm surprised, I know 1ml of water weighs 1g, but it doesn't work with all fluids. I would have thought that mayo was heavier than water.

I made my own Thousand Island dressing at Christmas as Mam had forgot to buy some. Mayo, Worcester sauce, lemon juice and a bit of tomato sauce. Tasted really nice.

The issue of the mayo ingredients. There could be a fraction more water in the squeezy version and a fraction more of another ingredient in the normal one.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Which likely explains why jars of Hellmanns are sold by weight. It's so you can't easily compare it with the own brand.

As terra_ferma correctly points out 1g of water = 1ml.

In post #4 from the hellmans jar and squeezy themselves, one teaspoon is 14g for the jar and 15ml for the squeezy. So if my calculations are correct, 100g = 107.1ml and 100ml = 93.3g

Edit: Just noticed Tesco sell both the jar and the squeezy in ml.
