Hi all,
I'm going to buy my first house in the near future, I've been really care about my credit, for the best result of my morgage, I haven't been apply any credit for a year.
But last week I have got a e-mail from Equifax and was told I had a credit search against my file.

The company name was" Littlewoods Finance Company Ltd" , and the search was used my previous address where I am not living.
I am really worry there maybe someone applied credit card use my name, in fact, the first name was spelling wrong.
I sent e-mail to Equifax few days ago, but they didn't apply until today, is there any other way I can find out the thing?
Any advise I'll be really appreciate.
thansk.

Mail order retailers (such as LFco) often do a search when you sign up - are you sure you never requested a catalogue or tried to get a freebie. There can be a delay in posting to your credit file - although normally it's not tool long.
I've always thought that the free offers from mail order catalogues posted on bargain forums should come with a health warning that you may get an unwanted search against your file.
The worst case scenario is that someone has fraudlently used your details and you should get in touch with LFCo as soon as possible0
