ever had a bbq in winter

thinking of having a bbq this week, inviting family, enclosing part of the garden to keep the heat in, lighting the chimenea and star gazing.

have you ever tried it and what was the outcome

Sometimes age just shows up all by itself ;)

We sometimes have winter BBQs, but it usually just means that I will go outside to cook (with the BBQ to keep me warm), then we'll eat inside. It's largely because my girlfriend can't go for long without the taste of beef grilled over charcoal (she's from Argentina...)

I think with the current weather it wouldn't be very comfortable standing around outside unless you were right next to a heat source.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning
  • How about a weekend lunch bbq, that's what I had last weekend with Fresh Sprats mmmmmm
  • Yeah we've had a few. .Remember one year It started raining heavily so we just moved it under a beer garden sized brolly and carried on. It didnt help that we just got covered in smoke but it was great fun and always a drunken one :)

Being from South Africa we have BBQ's all year round and have even cleared thick snow from the patio so we could BBQ. As long as you light a fire pit or chiminea you should be fine, perhaps try to get a patio heater as well
