Buying Duty Free Turkey

We are off to Turkey in April and will be buying duty free cigarettes and rolling tobacco. Is it cheaper to buy these before we fly, at the resort or in the duty free at Dalaman airport?
Found the thread on Turkisk Lira very helpful.

Dont forget that Turkey is not part of the EU so you are limited on the amount you can bring back - 200 cigarettes per person etc etc
All depends on the brands. If the brand is an import only then its cheaper to buy at Dalaman, if made under licence in Turkey then often cheaper to buy in resort. I found the last time I was there that marlboro were say £8 in resort (made in turkey) £10 at Dalaman (USA imports). Obviously not all brands are made in Turkey. B&H, mayfair etc can only be bought at Dalaman or on the black market in resort.
Cant help with drink as I dont

I agree with suki1964, it can be difficult to get some UK brands such as B&H outside the airport. Going off thread, when you get to Dalaman, you have to buy a Visa. Last year it was £10 per person. I have heard stories that they won't give change so make sure you have the right money. They take sterling.0

Your Turkey will probably have gone off before you get home due to the high temperatures, also the personal export of poultry is illegal!
Oh hang on, that's not what you meant!
Trust me to take your title literally..... <G>

I have been to Turkey for the last 15 years in a row and found that in the resorts it was almost impossible to buy B&H last year.
Luckily we bought some duty free this end, however we found them to be cheaper on the outgoing flight, so purchased more.
You can buy them at Dalaman on your return, but I would suggest to purchase from the outgoing flight.
Hope this helps.0
