Sky Go and Xbox?

I can't have a satellite dish (so am not a sky subscriber) where I live but now have an xbox so I believe I can get Sky Go.

I have looked on the Sky website and believe that I can view it through my Xbox without any other set top boxes or dish, no set up fees for £15 a month for the entertaiment package - is this correct?

Any offers for new customers wth Sky Go?

  • AFAIK you have to be a Sky subscriber, as the Sky Go is just an extension of your sub allowing you to watch it on other platforms like your pc or IOS devices (which is a very restricted service) or as you say on your xbox.

The entertainment pack is £20 on the sky sub, so how would it only be £15 on the Sky Go?

Sky are installing their HD boxes free for new customers atm, you could go down this route (if applicable) and then you would have recording available to you then. Plus you don't have to take the HD pack, so with the Entertainment pack would cost you £20 a month:)

So you can only get Sky on the Go if you are already a satellite Sky subscriber?

Decided to ask my Qs on sky live chat
Hi. Welcome to Sky, home of HD. You're chatting to Reece. Can I take your name please?
You: Hi do I have to already subscribe to Sky, to get Sky Go?
You: Or can Sky Go be bought as a stand alone product?
Reece: You can get Sky Go without Sky Tv
    Reece: Yes it can
You: Ok, are there any connection fees? and what is cheapest subscribtion
Reece: cheapest is the Entertainment pack for £15
You: Can you pay by direct debit?
    Reece: Yes
You: Are there any joining offers? I want to watch it on my xbox?

    Sky Go options above.

This is great for me we haven't been able to have sky for years, due to trees on neighbouring property. Probably a lot cheaper to buy a subscription with a dish but this way I can just it have it for a month when there is something on we want to watch or when we are on holiday from work.
