Any advice would be welcome.
My son and his fiancee were due to be married in July this year.
They paid a £2000 deposit to have an outside wedding in a marquee at a local vineyard. We then read in a local paper that the venue had lost its outside licence, we phoned and they said we could move the reception to inside. My son went down to meet them and everything was once again agreed. Now we have heard that the person has surrendered his lease.
This person owns another restaurant locally that is still a very successful business. Is there any way my son can get his money back, it just seems so unfair. I also believe he has had deposits for about 8 other weddings.

I was thinking the same as DUTR, did he pay deposit on CC?I'm never offended by debate & opinions. As a wise man called Voltaire once said, "I disagree with what you say, but will defend until death your right to say it."
Mortgage is my only debt - Original mortgage - January 2008 = £88,400, March 2014 = £47,000 Chipping away slowly! Now saving to move.0 -
