parking eye fine

Options
received supposed pcn for overstaying 1 hour 1 min at local retail park 1 week before xmas. i did reply as was outraged at £90 fine as was using shops on park xmas and grocery shopping. they asked for evidence which i didnt have as paid cash and didnt need to keep receipts. they say i entered into contract by parking there and broke it, where do i go now? i have read threads and realise now i should have ignored it but i didnt and now panicking. anybody on here experienced a similar dilemma, i cant afford court, debt collector fees on top.

  • Firstly, as the good book says, DON'T PANIC.

Was it a free car park? If so, the most they could ever claim is the loss of zero, nothing, nil. At worst all they can ask for is 1hour and 1 minute's worth of parking fees, and I bet that isn't £90.

In any case, it's an invoice, not a fine as they have no legal authority to fine you. Read the stickies at the top of the thread and relax.

Mrs theHibby is currently ignoring the same lot who want over £100 for an overstay in an empty and free car park from when someone else was driving her car. She expects to get taken to court at the same time as I score the winner for Scotland in the world cup final, so you have nothing to worry about.
  • Just because you replied (and now realise you shouldn't have) makes no difference whatsoever. All it means is that you may have to ignore a couple more of their ridiculous letters than if you had ignored them from the outset. Just ignore them, and their fake debt collectors and fake solicitors, who will likely follow. Despite the threatening and frightening language, it's all hogwash and bluster.

foolish, Handy hint, if you have a wobbly table there stupid begging letters will come in handy for stopping the wobble, also if you have a pet hampster / mouse, when shredded there beging letters makes the pet a lovely warm bed :money:
PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue.

I hope that is one retail park which has now lost at least 1 customer.

You would imagine the retail parks would work out that Christmas is a busy time of year so shops will be busy so people will take longer to do their shopping.

you have not been ,,fined,, you have been given an unenforceable invoice, which equates to loo paper, its not legit, so ignore parking spy/lie who are well known on here, relax, chill, feet up, nothing can/wil happen to you.despite the threat o grams you will recieve, they wont do court as they know and we know now you they will lose 100% for certainty.
  • thanks guys for all your advice, first time ive ever had anything like this happen to me so bit spooked but will sit tight and hope they take hint.

Most of us on here have experienced a fake PCN, yes, me included! :D

    But there's no dilemma.

The top sticky thread covers this...the letters are all there in pictures, with a Watchdog youtube clip as well. :)

You should be laughing at them by now and just playing a nice game of 'PPC snap' with each matching computerised threatogram that matches our pictures. Just look ahead each time for a pictorial preview of the next episode!

And no need to hope they take the hint! Who cares if they want to waste money sending out their barrage of predictable threatograms?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
