  • Just gave it a go - interesting.
I'm watching in Google Chrome, and for me the lip sync was also a bit off.
I thought it was a shame that the good/bad buttons don't appear below the screen as that's where he's pointing.

    Worked fine for me.

Quick question, how does 10% interest per month become 310% APR?

Can't for the life of me work it out!
Because it's compound interest - it actually comes to about 313%. 1.1^12 if you're curious, or you can test it out with an imaginary £100 ...

    Month 1: 110
    Month 2: 121
    Month 3: 133.10
    Month 4: 146.41
    Month 5: 161.05
    Month 6: 177.16
    Month 7: 194.87
    Month 8: 214.36
    Month 9: 235.80
    Month 10: 259.38
    Month 11: 285.31
    Month 12: 313.84

I know it was aimed at teenagers originally so fair enough but would be interesting to see another test but pitched to a more adult (mature) audience.

Maybe also give a third option of "Necessary" debt. "Necessary" fits in between "Good" and "Bad" much more aptly than "Grey". I wonder how many people would see a mortgage as a necessary debt? Given the choice, I'd still see it as good debt.

I clicked the link from this thread and am using Explorer and the results didn't work at the end so still glitched.

It was very good.At the end when Martin mentions the tools needed to decide about debt I think a link to those would be a good idea.
Great video, certainly made me think.

That would be a rate of 213%. The original £100 is the principle, not the interest.

    Hi, thanks for the feedback.
RuthnJasper: were you definitely within MSE, and not Youtube? We're working on some messages to make sure people don't click through to Youtube, as the quiz doesn't work there.

Hi Alana, Yes, it was definitely within MSE. It may just have been my PC though...! Rx

Just watched the video and took part in the quiz. The last one I didn't want to give an answer and of course when Martin gave the answer it is neither good or bad. Excellent - needs to get out there though for all those youngsters to see and undrstand - needs to start at school not when they already have debts after uni. Great stuff MSE.
