Halifax Cetelem PPI Claim help/questions.

New to all of this PPI stuff & probably like most, i've seen the adverts & thought i'd check.

Firstly I'm not sure if I can still claim & If I qualify.

Or loan was :-

The loan £5,000
Total charge for credit £960.64
Total amount payable £5,960.84
By 24 monthly payments of £248.36
APR 18.9%
Monthly interest Rate 1.457%

PPI (has been ticked, can't remember if it was from us or Cetelem)
Monthly PPI premium £24.84

Total monthly payment inclusive of insurance premium £273.20

Now here's where the problem may lie. The loan agreement is dated August 2002. So if we didn't pay off early then it ended in 2004 (more than the stated 6 years claim period).

So firstly is it too old to claim this PPI ?

Secondly, because myself/missus/Cetelem have ticked (tick here if you require PPI) box then we can't claim because we asked for it ?.

It doesn't say what it is really or what it covers but the clue is in the name or Payment Protection Insurance.

Sorry for this being a bit long winded but I've read the steps guide and am still not sure where we would stand or if it would be worth claiming or not.

Thanks for reading.

Does anyone know the address / who I would send the letters to to claim ?.

  • This sounds like you ticked the box and the policy is payable monthly. That does not suggest the firm has done anything wrong.
  • I have the same problem, how did you get on with this and do you have an address?

    Many thanks
