Hi
I live in NW London and have a 3 bed-semi detached 1930s house. I want to get the pebble dash hacked off and the house smooth rendered across two floors. What kind of costs do people think is fair for that sort of job? Do I contact a standard builder or a specialist plasterer? Thanks

Both should be able to do it not sure of the costs though, I think they charge so much a sq metre, probably costs more in London0

scafold for a semi detached around 1000
hack of and skip depeinding on the state of the pebledash about 800
sand and cement and lime, 2 coats around 25 pounds per sq m, materials included... then you got to paint it
so think of new coloured renders, ie k rend, weber, etc which when finished came on the chosen colours.. even in pink if you wanted;)
if house is cold you can apply 30 mm polisterine insulation then render(check on google sto classic) so you insulate house, render and already painted in same time
he new renders are more expensive but not that much considering you dont have to paint and they are much stronger than sand and cement, and almost waterproof.
we just did one in st albans recently ...dont bother commiting now for that job as with this weather even the most comited plasterer wont archive much...
why get a builder when a plasterer can do the whole thing...builder would charge for arranging for everyone0 -
Cheers - was looking ahead to spring anyway. Do you want to PM me contact details? Also, we need the roofline done so is it better to get that done first and render up to it or to have the render done first - or does it not matter?0
