over due tax payment

item 3 in the list = HMRC website - then read the bit headed :
Interest and penalties if you don't pay your tax on time

is there no way you can pay it without using a credit card?
by the time you include the credit card charges from HMRC you are costing yourself a fair bit extra

No penalties as long as you pay before the end of February.

Interest charged from 2 February at 3%pa.

No penalties and just 3% interest from 2nd Feb - which will be minimal.

But it's a 1.4% surcharge for payment by CC, which isn't very good for cashflow?

  • Hi , thanks for your suggestions. Yes, paying by CC isnt the best but I'm juggling a bit at the moment.
