hello, Ive just paid my income tax by credit card. it would help with cash flow if I paid my husbands on next months CC ,which would start 2nd or 3rd of feb ..ish. What penalties and or interest payment would I attract if the payment was 3or 4 days late ?
thanks

item 3 in the list = HMRC website - then read the bit headed :
Interest and penalties if you don't pay your tax on time
is there no way you can pay it without using a credit card?
by the time you include the credit card charges from HMRC you are costing yourself a fair bit extra0 -
No penalties as long as you pay before the end of February.
Interest charged from 2 February at 3%pa.I am an Accountant. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Accountant. All posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and should not be seen as professional advice.0 -

No penalties and just 3% interest from 2nd Feb - which will be minimal.
But it's a 1.4% surcharge for payment by CC, which isn't very good for cashflow? If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
Hi , thanks for your suggestions. Yes, paying by CC isnt the best but I'm juggling a bit at the moment.0
