This is like the best detective story :p

Has anyone actually met the lady face-face with the shopping?

If she's demanding you to go shopping for her tell her that you will do so immediately you have an employment contract signed by her in your hand. She could also supply you with a credit card to do her shopping with and which she could settle directly.

I wouldn't touch this with a 10foot barge pole though: if it smells of sh*t and looks like sh*t then don't be surprised when it turns out to be sh*t. (Pardon my language!)

I couldn't agree more. But at the same time I feel the need to call her on it!

I think we should all club together and go shopping for her then all MSEers on this thread rock up together!

She could just be old and suffering from a bit of dementia which can make you do the most unusual paranoid things. I have an aunt who is 88 and her mind seems to have completely gone, she rings up asking the most bizarre things (she used to insist on being wheeled around Waitrose and was very specific about what could and couldn't be bought) and the other day she rang 999 because she wanted someone to take her to the toilet.

I doubt advertising in the hope of getting free groceries would be financially viable. I'm guessing the advert costs more than groceries, unless her groceries come from the jewellers.

Can dementia make you write emails to a person you've never met telling them how horrible and mean they are because they won't fork out the £80 for groceries without meeting first? I'm up for rocking up there with or without groceries with the rest of the MSEs for sure.

Well I am not a doctor, but I have several family members with dementia and it can really turn people's personalities and make them do the oddest things. My other auntie made demands off people and got extremely upset when they said no when she was very ill, we all thought she was just being mean and rude but she was eventually diagnosed with vascular dementia. She had no concept of what was acceptable in society.

I'll book a mini bus and let's go!

Very interesting reading in this thread...

I do find it very interesting that CoolCat said he came and signed up on this forum to warn people (during the month it was discussed). What on earth let him/her know that it was actually being discussed on this forum?

And no offence to Missp or GumbyS, but it is also suspicious that you guys have only just joined the forum as well, and all your posts appear to be in this thread.

I don't think this saga is quite over yet...

I joined the forum today after telling a mate about my horrible experience with this woman. I showed my mate her disturbing emails to me and he googled her email address and found this forum. And here I am trying to make sense of it all. I do have the lady's address or at least the address she gave me and I will pay a visit if I have to.

If she has dementia she clearly needs help, and if she doesn't, she really needs help.
  • This is all so intriguing!!

People need to go over and see her and report back

    *Gets out popcorn*
