Any websites where you can advertise for property wanted?

I've been looking for a property for two years now without any luck. I don't need a mortgage and don't have to sell a property.
I've made offers of 5% below asking on 2 properties both priced around the 200K mark, both offers were rejected and the properties remain unsold but not reduced, indicating they may have been overpriced.
Does anyone know of any websites like Rightmove where you can state that you are looking for a particular property and in what area?

You could try leafleting a street/area. Has worked for people on here. Don't know of a website, not really sure it'd work that way round.

Since you've seen, some time later, that the properties you offered on are still available, have you gone back to the agents to say
"I'm still interested"

Are you looking in a particular village/town/city/county?
Have you tried letting the agents operating in your target area know that you're looking, so they can tell you when properties come up that fit your requirements?0 -
I agree with all the above.
Its also a case of finding out if a seller is motivated as well, as generally there is hardly any cost involved in putting a property on the market, a lot of sellers just test the market.0 -
But 5% of the asking price is only £10,000. Unless you are living rent free, surely it is better to up your offer a bit and save the rent you are paying?0

Thanks all. Yes I went back to the agent and said I was still interested but he said the house price is fixed. On principle I'm not paying the full asking price, especially as there's no other interest.
I'm not paying any rent as my mortgage is paid off.0 -
Have you ever thought that the property is a certain price because the owners HAVE to sell it at that price?Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0
