Life Assurance

Wonder if anyone can help. I've got a Norwich Union joint life assurance policy (decreasing) which was linked to our mortgage but we've paid off the mortgage early - it currently stands at a payout of roughly £37,000 and costs £26.80 per month - it pays out on first death.

I get free life cover through work so I don't need it but my husband hasn't any so I was going to get him a term life assurance policy and cancel this one. Only thing it has going for it that I can see is that it has critical illness.

Is it worth holding onto for a few years or getting rid of itand opening a new one with Norwich Union for my hubbie's life cover only - for £200,000 Cavendish is quoting £47 per month with Norwich Union which is really good.
