MAXIMUM Price (can be cheaper at certain times/days) of adult (non-3D) ticket at my ODEON is £7.50
(Sadly going up to £7.70 from tomorrow 19/7)
Go on (Orange) Wednesday - 2nd ticket 35p - so that's 2 for £7.85 (£8.05)
OR
Showcase Cinema de Lux - MAX cost is £7.80 so 2 on a 35p Wednesday is £8.15
(the other "non De Lux" Showcase is £7.70)
Showcase also do the INSIDER Club - FREE to join - Occasional invites to FREE PREVIEWS
Insider Admission on a Tuesday just £5 - so £10 a pair
No queuing, no stress, no chance of being turned away, no long distance drives, just turn up on time at your nearest local cinema ...... next Wednesday TDKR has 4 screenings from 19:00 to 20:30 (including an over 18s only) at my CDL
I'm all for FREE admission - probably passed the 400 mark by now - but not when the cost of redeeming the freebie is so high - potentially more that it's worth
Round trip for me - 10 to 15 minutes = Odeon 50p / Showcase(s) 80p
Some people have to travel to get to a cinema anyway not just for free previews. Some live in areas which have no cinema or one that shows very few decent films.
I know people who regularly drive for more than an hour to get to a city which is showing films they want to see.

Each to their own, but seeing a movie 2 weeks before release is worth it in my opinion!
What about TDKR?
Premiere is tonight, released nationwide on Friday.

Went to see the Lorax on Sunday - a guy was there from Sky, he had a mobile phone and was scanning that little box thingy printed on the bottom of the ticket. I imagine that nowadays a fake ticket would = red face and turned away in shame lol0

All sky tickets for Brave already gone for my cinema - and no mention of more being released at a future date.
Hope others have more luck0 -

They have just changed their message, which now reads
"Sorry you have not been able to get tickets again. The location you have selected has no tickets left. Please check for other local venues which may have tickets available. Otherwise, please come back soon. More tickets are due to be released on 20-07-2012"
Glad you got some g-ben
Hope others are lucky as well0 -

That's a QR code (Quick Response)
it a 2 dimensional "barcode"
this particular one is a Version 4 (33x33) and can store 50 characters
The Version 40 (177x177) can store up to 4k of alphanumeric characters or about 7k of just numbers.

Nah. It was anticlimactic and ruined the trilogy.
It was okay at best.0
