No. Scroll down to see this was asked and answered a few days ago. See post 4572.

Firstly I'd say a huge thanks to the guys who are posting these. Ive been to a few films and very much appreciate the free tickets!

I agree they are free, but it is not particularly easy to get 15 codes each month if you don't know anyone who reads the paper (I don't) and so as the only other option is to pay for it, I would like to propose we split the thread... one thread for subscription based tickets and one for general public free tickets. What do you all think? Also the regular guys posting the tickets, would be great to hear your opinion. Would this be too difficult for you? Have mentioned this to a mod a while back and they suggested putting the idea out on the forum.

As we all know, the totally free ones disappear very quickly and so you have to be on the ball and check the links as soon as they are posted. So today for e.g. I have checked 3 times so far as the notifications have come in and each time they have been subscription based offers. I think it would be much more helpful to only get notifications for tickets that you are eligible for, and this is a pretty easy way of doing it.

    Penny for your thoughts? :j

They are best kept in order on one thread, as the posters always state whether they are sun perks, times etc its easy to distinguish payable ones to free ones.

If they were to go on a separate thread, it would be on the low spend board and not this board so people would have to check 2 boards.

I will keep an eye on here to see what the masses think and go from there.

  • Agreed, they are clear once you are on the thread looking, but I guess the main point was about how many times you have to come onto the thread to check throughout the day when 60% (or even more recently) of the offers are not applicable to general public without a subscription.

Also not too sure why it would have to go on a different board because they would be the same type of posts that have always been posted. Surely if they are not appropriate for the freebies board they should have been moved there long ago?

These are just my opinions anyway. I see it as an easy way to save time for users. Lets see what others think :)

I do see your point but it was agreed a while ago that they would all go on the same thread, if they were to be split into 2 then the payable ones would have to go on the low spend board as it would not be a combination and would only be payable tickets so would not be appropriate for the no spend board.

This comes up on a regular basis.
Firstly, it makes no matter if they are subscription based or not. If you want tickets you should check for every alert. It's the same for anyone who does get tickets from these companies but who then find there isn't anything available in their area.

Secondly, the vast majority have always been "rewards" be it magazines, banking, your trade union, your tv/broadband provider etc etc etc

The tickets are free and therefore should be posted in the free thread.

What I find more annoying is the fact that one person posted two alerts this morning yet others have posted duplicate info.
    Can the BG please delete?
Admittedly the info was slightly wrong but the links are correct.

I think thats quite a stubborn point of view to be honest. I suggest it because it is a way of saving time for users of the forum having to keep checking back for things which they are not entitled to. The whole point of a community is to evolve and make changes for the better. And yes if there is nothing available in the area then it is another wasted visit but from a technical perspective, I don't see a way where the forum could improve on this otherwise I absolutely would suggest that too, whereas for subscription based vs non subscription based there is a very simple way of doing it so I do not understand the resistance to it.

Yes they have been rewards provided by other companies but a lot of them have not needed people to have paid for something to be entitled to them or have a particular token and so there is a clear distinction between the two types. Its like the difference between these bank accounts where you pay a fee every month and get free travel insurance as opposed to a company giving out free travel insurance to anyone who wants it.

The more threads there are available for people to choose where to post, the more complicated it gets.

Already, we have people who cannot distinguish between where competition posts go and often people post theatre, concert and tv show codes on the cinema codes thread.

When people are rushing to help the members of this forum (often using phones) they want simplicity.

Your suggestion means more threads to subscribe to which means more times posts can be missed. If an alert goes unnoticed or several posts are deleted by a BG, this can mean some people won't get another alert. By having multiple codes threads, this multiplies that possibility.

It's not a case of being stubborn, it's a case of using common sense.
