  • Saw Whiplash last night. Brilliant - even for a non Jazz person. The final scene was choreographed perfectly.

I had to decide between Whiplash and Testament of Youth, so glad I chose Whiplash.

Came out very confused about my feelings towards J.K.Simmons' character which is the mark of a great film :)

I wasn't that impressed with Whiplash, it was one of those movies that I thought was quite pointless. You win some...

I watched Whiplash last night and I was impressed like many others. It is very tense and acting is brilliant. Very good job indeed. Thanks MSE and Silk for posting the code!

Read some lack-lustre reviews of ToY, so I went to the screening on Sunday not expecting much.

So glad I dragged myself out of bed, as I found it enlightening and moving.
Not Oscar standard, but well worth the effort to get there.

It may not have been 100% historically accurate, but it gives a snap-shot back to a bygone age - fashion, transport, manners etc..

I don't think I will be the only one buying the book as a result.
  • Was turned away from the Bristol Cribbs screening of Kingsman tonight.
I know it's in the terms and conditions that screenings might be overbooked - but the little "jobsworth" manager didn't have to be so overbearing and unpleasant about it.
Cheltenham cinema often give alternative tickets in the event of a full house and handle overbooking with good grace.

It's managers discretion. Easily avoided by getting there early

It had nothing to do with "getting there early". In this case very few people were allowed into these screenings in some venues.

All very well, but at Stratford being FIFTH or later in the queue meant no admittance.
