You can cancel on the day by using the cancel link on the actual ticket but you can't cancel on the site.

You can cancel on the site.

    - Log in (as if you are booking a ticket)
    - Click BOOK NOW
    - You are now on the Free Cinema Tickets booking page with the drop down menus etc.
    - On the top row you should see BOOK RETRIEVE CANCEL PROFILE LOGOUT
    - Click cancel
    - enter memorable info
    - select ticket to cancel

People should have the courtesy to do it. They'd be quick enough to moan about not being able to get tickets

That option disappears on the day!

I cancelled my tickets for Stuck in Love on the same day as the screening this week.
i think if you cancel after the booking process ends (usually 5pm) then the film wouldn't be on the drop down menu, but I can't see them getting rid of the cancel link.

What if you wanted to cancel a film that was showing in a weeks time.

    I repeat.

The option to cancel on the site is there until the day before the film shows. After that it disappears.

You can use the cancel option on the e-ticket at any time.

    Is that clear now?

No. Because you can do it on the same day through the site.

Strange how it seems to be only you who can do that.

    Stranger things have happened.

Well anyone who has tickets for This is the End can have a look following my instructions on the 17th and if I am wrong everyone can tell me off.

I only ever tried to cancel a ticket once on the day of screening but this was some time ago - could not find it on the website and did not realise the e-mail with ticket had the option. Feel better that I am fully informed now and know what to do if the need arises in future - still think there ought to be a better way for SKY to ensure more bums on seats though - without relying on people to take the trouble to put them back into circulation.

Thanks to those who contributed to pointing me in the right direction

As far as I'm concerned you're both right ...

    and you're both wrong

A couple of weeks ago I tried to cancel a ticket around noon on the day of the screening and the "full list" of BOOK RETRIEVE CANCEL PROFILE LOGOUT was there and I accessed the CANCEL facility accordingly.

On that page the preview that was screening that evening wasn't listed and so couldn't be selected to be cancelled.
There was another future screening however that I was able to pick and successfullly change the number of tickets required
